The Battlestar Galactica model from Moebius

I've waited to build this sucker since first seeing it in the nuBSG pilot some
seven years ago. This is the Battlestar Galactica from the new series that ran
on the Sci-Fi Channel (back when it was still called that). Moebius did a great
job in bringing this beauty to life, with plenty of fine details.

I painted the recessed areas of the Galactica Medium Gray,
with the armored areas getting a metallic silver. I then put a flat black wash all over
the ship, to dull the silver and further darken the recessed areas. The model fit
together very snugly, with very little need for gap closing with putty wotk. The
final picture shows the battlestar on patrol.

The original Battlestar Galactica model is placed next to the Moebius version for a
comparison shot. While the classic battlestar model is bigger, the Moebius version
has far more detail work. The last picture shows the classic Battlestar Hyperion
being escorted on patrol by the new Galactica.
