This 1/35 scale kit from Tamyia shows the M3 Lee tank that was
used by the Americans during the early part of the Second World War. I built it
straight out of the box. This was an interesting tank because of the large
75mm gun that stuck out of the hull, along with a smaller 37mm gun that was
mounted in the turret. While this is an interesting tank for armor lovers like
me, it wasn't a much-loved tank by its crews. The tank itself had to be facing
a target in order for the large hull gun to be effective. It was ultimately
pulled from the frontline once the regular M4 Sherman tanks became available. The
British used a version of this tank called the Grant. It had a larger turret.
