Jinkies! My Velma Diorama

By Sean Farrell

I had one of the "Victim" figure kits from Monster scenes in my model kit stash, and rather than just build her as a frightened, scantily-clad woman, I decided to convert her to Velma, from the Scooby Doo cartoons. I used to watch these cartoons as a kid, and Velma was my favorite of the Scooby Gang. The first two photos show the sculpt work I did on the unpainted model. The second pair of pictures show the fully painted model. I avoided using any fancy painting schemes, since I was going for a cartoon look.

I decided to put the figure in a diorama with the Frankenstein Monster from the Monster Scenes line. I kept the base simple, since I want the a Saturday Morning Cartoon look, here. Of course, if you watch the show, you'd realize that this isn't really the Frankenstein monster, but Old Farmer Jones, who's trying to scare folks off of his property because of the buried gold that he's trying to loot.
